Is AI accurate?
Often, but not always. AI writes by predicting likely words, so it can state a wrong fact, number or date with full confidence. The useful question is not whether AI is accurate in general, but which parts of this answer you can trust.
Where AI tends to slip
- Numbers and math that do not add up.
- Dates, time zones and anything that changed recently.
- Specific facts that sound right but have no source behind them.
- Answers that contradict something said earlier in the same chat.
How to know what to trust
Check claims one at a time. Work out what can be worked out. Look for two independent reliable sources for the rest. Treat what you cannot settle as unconfirmed.
How Blaine helps
Blaine checks the claims in its own answers with code, rules and real sources, and marks each one:
- Supported: two independent reliable sources agree with the claim.
- Disputed: a reliable source says something different, or the answer clashes with something said earlier.
- Corrected: a part was proven wrong, so it was fixed or taken out. Tap it to see the original.
- Unconfirmed: no source settled it.
Checking makes Blaine more careful, not infallible. For anything medical, legal, financial or safety critical, check independently before you act.
